Our horses will change into a thing similar to a plesiosaur because of many earthquakes. One day there would be a series of category 20 earthquakes around the world causing the biggest tsunami the world has ever seen. This tsunami would wipe out all land masses causing many land animals to die immediately. Very few animals would survive and one of these animals would be the horse, and they would have to change or die. First they would have to eat, sense there are no plants for the horse to eat it would have to become a carnivore to survive. The horse’s teeth would sharpen to be able to rip through any meat and flesh to kill its prey. After this the horse would have to be able to live in the cold waters of the ocean so its skin would become like blubber and a darker shade like grey to blend into the ocean to hunt. During or a little bit after this its hooves would not be suitable to the water so the hooves and legs would start to become more flexible and rubbery, and move to the sides of the body. Then after this the tail of the horse would also turn into a rubbery substance like blubber and stick straight out behind the horse to be able to propel itself through the water faster. To help catch more prey easier the horse’s neck would become very long to be able to catch its prey faster and easier than the shorter neck. That is how the horse would revolutionize itself to survive.
"Plesiosaurs were among the largest marine predators of all time; the smallest were approximately 2 m (6.5 ft) long, and the largest were up to 15 m (49.2 ft) long. You can see by the image, that it had four paddle-shaped ‘flipper’ limbs that were thought to be used to propel the creature through the water by a combination of rowing and up-and-down movements. There appears to have been no tail fin and the tail that was there was most likely used to help control direction. The reptiles seemed to manoeuvre easily in the water, and they were the top predator at the time. They hunted smaller marine life, such as sharks." |
