ALLIGATOR to ALLGASAUR
The Alligator will probably have many different adaptations to survive. I predict that in the future the alligator will turn into a creature bigger and stronger than before. For example, the alligator can not survive in salt water, so in a million years or so they might be able to. The alligator also has a problem for being fast on land.
The new and improved alligator that we call an Allgasaur would be able to survive in both salt and fresh water. the Allgasaur would also not even be a land animal. It would turn into a shark like creature but longer.

Traits of the Allgasaur
Isolation
When the polar ice caps melted the water cover Florida, the alligators got separated from each other, and some died, others survived to become Allgasaurs. With this change the alligators had to adapt to the harsh wilderness surrounded by water, very little land.In order to do this the alligator would have to stay in water without the need of air above water, this problem was changed by it getting gills. The alligator will also need to increase its speed in water because they are competing with each other to get food which requires strength and speed.
Adaptation
After the alligator had been separated for many years they had made some changes to survive. It had gotten flippers with claws to help it go faster. It now has a longer jaw so it can get more food in at once. With its very few scales it is able to glide through water without movement in water.Stronger skin means that when predators try to attack it will not harm the Allagasaur. It also must go faster in water,(the info for that is in the paragraph above) by using the flippers. The new life span is 50-65 years. All of these adaptations will help it survive in the new environment.
Division
The Allagasaur had already been created due to adaptation. Now for the Allagasaur to carry on with its species must reproduce. It can have a total of 3 to 4 offspring. The father leaves the mother after mating, and leaves the kids for the mom. After the Allgasaur's are born, the mom leaves the offspring. The offspring are born to be about 5 to 6 feet long, and they survive with each other for about 1 year, until they break off to survive on there own.
