About bears |
|
Bears have been around for about half a million years, they are commonly found in the Northern Hemisphere, more commonly The Great Plains, although soon to be driven out by hunters. There are many different types of bears, for example the Grizzly, Brown Bear, Black Bear, etc... Bears usually live near a river or stream so that they can capture fish for their survival. They can also be found in forests, meadows, and Tundran areas. They are mainly isolated and try to lower interaction with humans and other dominant bears. Bears are the dominant and powerful animals of the forest.

Evolution of bears
The evolution of modern bears that we know today started 30 million years ago, their ancestors evolved into small animals known as Miacids (Miacidae). Bears, small bears, and the canines formed from these animals. This is why some canines species look like bears, we often refer to them as Bear Dogs or Amphicyonidae. The bear family can be divided into three sub-families: The giant panda(Ailuropodinae), The spectacle bear(Tremarctinae), the real bears(Ursinae).

Evolution Prediction
Our group believes that the bear will evolve into a new species similar to the mythical creature known as Big Foot. We think this because the brown bear will need to become stronger due to hunters, they would evolve and become more aggressive and hostile instead of their usual neutral selves. Over time it will start to stand and use its fore legs as arms, bears have already shown this as sometimes they stand up and can naturally climb trees. Therefore bears will become better at standing up and moving besides crawling on all four.

Future of the brown bears
In the future the different species of bears will evolve and change differently due to land changes and climate changes. Brown bears may differ from Grizzly Bears and other relatives to the point where they can not populate anymore. For example in the future sea levels will rise causing more land to be submerged under water. Therefore many habitats will either be destroyed or much of it will be lost, especially the coastal areas near the water. The West Coast of the United States may be submerged under water and evergreen forests and other areas where bears live may be underwater where they cannot live. Then the Brown Bears will evolve into Big Foot like creatures to climb trees and protect themselves stated in above, and Grizzly Bears and other types of bears may need to evolve into sea animals to survive, therefore Brown Bears and other bears cannot reproduce causing a new species to arise.
