Flamingos don't have many problems with their habitats. They live in many different places due to their ability to live in hot or cold climates, but it is easier for them if they live in colder climates. As long as they have room to roam and plenty of food they are content to any environment. With this kind of adaption they have survived for millions of years.
Flamingos eat small sea creatures like shrimp, mollusks, and algae. The cause of their bright pink feathers is because of their diet habits like shrimp. They live on the south american coasts, with many different kinds of danger. Predatory birds are one of the largest threats for flamingos. Adult flamingos don't get attacked that often. Predatory birds go for the new borns or even the eggs.

Flamingos are more commonly found on the coast of the atlantic ocean. Scientist predict that the world with shift again. Like what happened to Pangea. North and South America are connected by a strip of land. Many flamingos live close to that land and if the worlds shifts thousands of flamingos will be separated, and many of their homes will be destroyed.
With the lack of land the flamingos will be forced to adapt to another lands climate, something that their not used to doing. The shift might effect there eating habits. If they can't get the same amount of shrimp, or if the shrimp population is effected by the shift then the flamingo might change back to its original color that it was at birth. The color might through off their predators, and make the flamingos less approachable. The change in color will not effect the flamingos health, but it will effect they life around them.
The flamingos body will have to change due to the lack of food from their original diet. With their long neck and long legs there is to much space between the nutrients in the water and the beak. With the original body structure the flamingos beak can only reach the surface of the water and the nutrients is the layer under the surface. The legs will get shorter so their long neck can go deeper into the water to reach untouched nutrients. Since the flamingo isn't that big, and it only eats smaller ocean animals, its beak will have to increase in length to help reaching holes to get small see creatures. With all the time spent in the water their feathers will start to fall off. Just like what happens to a a penguin after birth.
The flamingo stands at 110 to 150 centimeters and a big part of their height has to due with their long legs. Their legs measure at 30 10 50 centimeters. The wingspan of a flamingo is 90 to 150 centimeters.
This is what the transitional zone looks like. What happens is the flamingos feathers start to fall out due to the lack of time on land and the increased time in the water. The legs start to get shorter to help the beak get more nutrients for the body. Lastly the beak will increase in size to help get food out of holes ing the ocean floor.
Thousands of years from now this is what flamingos will look like. It will have shorter legs, longer beak, no feathers and it wont be pink.
The new height of the flamingo will be approximately 100 to 120 centimeters. The new legs would be shortened to 20 to 40 centimeters, and the wingspan would be 70 to 100 centimeters.
Our new bird will be called the Fladingo.
